The Recording Academy® announced that its immersive pop-up experience, GRAMMY® House, will expand globally in 2026 with the launch of GRAMMY House Giza, marking a milestone in the Academy’s mission to connect music creators worldwide.

To honor the people of Los Angeles and the communities affected by recent wildfires in the region, folk rock band Dawes took to the stage at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards® to open the show with an inspiring rendition of Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” Joined by a supergroup of previously announced GRAMMY® performers Brad Paisley, Brittany Howard, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, and St. Vincent, Dawes made a surprise appearance at Music’s Biggest Night®, taking place today at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Singer Taylor Goldsmith and his brother, drummer Griffin Goldsmith, were both affected by the recent wildfires, with Taylor losing his home studio and much of the band’s musical equipment, and Griffin’s home in Altadena burning down in the Eaton Fire.

The Recording Academy®’s Special Merit Awards Ceremony celebrating the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award, Trustees Award and Technical GRAMMY® Award recipients will return during GRAMMY® Week on Feb. 1 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre. Frankie Beverly, The Clash, Dr. Bobby Jones, Taj Mahal, Prince, Roxanne Shante, and Frankie Valli are the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award honorees; Erroll Garner, Glyn Johns and Tania León are the Trustees Award recipients; and Dr. Leo Beranek is the Technical GRAMMY Award honoree. Commended for his indisputable impact on the music business, Sony Music Publishing Chairman and CEO Jon Platt is the 2024 GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons® honoree. The Recording Academy® and Clive Davis will celebrate Platt’s achievements at the renowned Pre-GRAMMY® Gala on Sat, Feb. 3, 2024, the evening preceding the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards®.

GRAMMY U®, the Recording Academy®'s membership program that has been a prominent gateway into the music industry for college students pursuing careers in music, is no longer requiring college enrollment in its application guidelines, expanding eligibility for all individuals aged 18-29 who are actively taking an alternate path towards a career in music.

The Recording Academy® has announced its key dates and deadlines ahead of Music’s Biggest Night®, taking place on Sun, Feb. 4, 2024, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. This year’s GRAMMY® nominees will be announced on Fri, Nov. 10, 2023. The 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards® will air live (8:00-11:30 PM, LIVE ET/5:00-8:30 PM, LIVE PT) on the CBS Television Network and will stream on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs)*.

Today, Recording Academy® leaders and members joined Congressmen Hank Johnson (D-GA) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) at a press conference on Capitol Hill to announce the reintroduction of the Restoring Artistic Protection Act. Intended to protect artists' freedom of creative expression, the Restoring Artistic Protection Act would limit the use of song lyrics in court — a common practice that disproportionately affects rap and hip-hop artists. Artists and industry advocates including Academy CEO, Harvey Mason jr. and Academy Black Music Collective Chair, Rico Love shared their views on the importance of passing this legislation and ensuring all artists can create freely without fear of their work being criminalized. The 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony® will return to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with current GRAMMY® nominee Randy Rainbow set to co-host. Kicking off the ceremony, the opening number will feature a performance by Blind Boys of Alabama, La Marisoul from La Santa Cecilia and additional surprise performers. Other artists scheduled to perform include current nominees Arooj Aftab, Madison Cunningham, Samara Joy, Anoushka Shankar, and Carlos Vives. GRAMMY® Award-winning artists Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott and Lil Wayne, and music executive Sylvia Rhone will be honored during the Recording Academy® Honors Presented By The Black Music Collective event taking place during GRAMMY® Week at the Hollywood Palladium on Thurs, Feb. 2, 2023. All four honorees will be receiving the Recording Academy Global Impact Award for their personal and professional achievements in the music industry. First-time GRAMMY nominee Adam Blackstone will return as the musical director of the evening and Recording Academy Board of Trustees Vice Chair Rico Love will also return to Chair the event. The second annual Black Music Collective event is sponsored by Amazon Music and Google Pixel Phone and will take place just days before the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards.®

The Recording Academy®'s Special Merit Awards Ceremony celebrating the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award, Trustees Award, Technical GRAMMY® Award, and Best Song For Social Change Award recipients will return for the first time since 2020 during GRAMMY® Week on Feb. 4, 2023, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre. Bobby McFerrin, Nirvana, Ma Rainey, Nile Rodgers, Slick Rick "The Ruler," The Supremes, and Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart are the 2023 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients; Henry Diltz, Ellis Marsalis and Jim Stewart are the Trustees Award recipients; and the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and Dr. Andy Hildebrand are the Technical GRAMMY Award honorees. The Best Song For Social Change honoree will be announced at a later date.

Recognized for their dynamic leadership and revolutionary creativity, Atlantic Music Group Chairman and CEO Julie Greenwald and Atlantic Records Chairman and CEO Craig Kallman, are the 2023 GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons® honorees. The Recording Academy® and Clive Davis will celebrate Greenwald and Kallman's accomplishments at the Pre-GRAMMY® Gala on Sat, Feb. 4, 2023. The illustrious event preceding the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards® is returning for the first time since 2020.

Through the Recording Academy®'s annual process of accepting proposals from the music creators and professionals that make up its membership body, and as part of the organization's commitment to evolve with the ever-changing musical landscape, several new changes have been made to the GRAMMY Awards® process. Five new GRAMMY Awards will be handed out starting next year, including Songwriter Of The Year (Non-Classical) and Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games And Other Interactive Media, among others. Additionally, a new Special Merit Award will be given out for Best Song For Social Change. Other amendments include changes to the GRAMMY Awards entry and voting processes and more. All updates go into effect immediately for the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards taking place in 2023.

The Recording Academy® today announced Sony Music Group Chairman, Rob Stringer, will receive the 2022 GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons® award for his leadership, impact and dedication to advancing innovation in the music industry. Stringer will be celebrated at Clive Davis' and the Recording Academy®'s Pre-GRAMMY® Gala returning to the Beverly Hilton, in person, on Sun, Jan. 30, 2022, the evening preceding the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards®.

The Recording Academy® and CBS announced today that Trevor Noah, Comedy Central's Emmy® Award-winning "The Daily Show" host and comedian, will return as master of ceremonies of the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards®. Music's Biggest Night® will be broadcast live from Crypto.com Arena (currently STAPLES Center) in Los Angeles Mon, Jan. 31, 2022 (8-11:30 p.m., live ET/5-8:30 p.m., live PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*. Previously, Noah hosted the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards.

The Recording Academy®'s newly launched Songwriters & Composers Wing has announced a Leadership Council comprised of music creators spanning diverse backgrounds and genres to further the Wing's mission of supporting and advocating on behalf of music's storytellers. Working collaboratively with the Academy's membership base and ecosystem of musicians, the Leadership Council will meet regularly to inform the Wing's direction and take lead in fostering recognition of all genres of songwriters. To better serve creators internationally, the Wing has also forged a partnership with The Latin Recording Academy® and will work with the organization to better serve global creators who identify as songwriters and composers.

The Recording Academy® released today the latest GRAMMY Awards® Rules and Guidelines, which reflect new changes to the process for the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Introduced in June 2020, the annual disclosure of the GRAMMY Awards Rules and Guidelines mirrors the Academy's commitment to ensuring its actions are fair and transparent and that all details surrounding the awards process are easily accessible to the music community at large.

The Recording Academy® announced today that it has made significant changes to its Awards process that reflect its ongoing commitment to evolve with the musical landscape and to ensure that the GRAMMY Awards® rules and guidelines are transparent and equitable. Among the changes are the elimination of Nominations Review Committees, a reduction in the number of categories in which voters may vote, two GRAMMY® Award category additions, and more. These updates are a result of extensive discussions and collaboration over the course of the last year amongst a special subcommittee of Recording Academy members and elected leaders, and were voted on by the Academy’s Board of Trustees. These changes go into effect immediately for the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards® taking place Jan. 31, 2022. The eligibility period for the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards is Sept. 1, 2020 through Sept. 30, 2021.
