CFP Board Appoints Ben Roberts as Managing Director of Program Development

CFP Board today announced the appointment of Ben Roberts, CPTD, SHRM-SCP as its Managing Director of Program Development. Roberts brings over two decades of experience in program development and stakeholder engagement.

As Managing Director, Roberts will lead the innovation, development and delivery of programs, products and services that advance the financial planning profession for the benefit of the public. He and his team will be responsible for initiatives that support CFP® professionals’ delivery of competent advice to their clients; assist CFP® professionals in complying with laws, regulations and CFP® certification standards; and help candidates prepare for and pass the CFP® exam. The team will enhance the value of CFP® certification and reinforce CFP Board’s leadership role in the financial planning ecosystem.

Roberts brings over 20 years' corporate experience in workplace learning and program development across diverse industries. Before joining CFP Board, Roberts served as Vice President, Global Human Resources and People Operations at Silverchair, an independent platform partner for scholarly and professional publishers, where he designed and delivered executive leadership development programs.

Previously, Roberts was Senior Manager, Learning and Development at Deloitte, where he led a team managing leadership curricula and delivery for more than 180,000 professionals. He also directed Deloitte's award-winning Social Impact Portfolio, delivering programs that impacted over 8,000 veterans and transitioning service members, and developed thousands of school leaders impacting over two million students globally. Roberts also held program and leadership development roles at The Walt Disney Co., The Coca-Cola Co. and Strategic Education.

Roberts holds an Executive MBA from West Virginia University and a bachelor's degree in business administration and human resource management from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Based in CFP Board’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, Roberts will report to CFP Board Chief Program Officer Lisa Davis. He joined the organization on January 30, 2026. CFP Board’s recruiting partner, Vetted Solutions, assisted in the search for this new role.
